The Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed to oblige foreign car concerns to share data with private service

According to the technical specifications of the Ministry, it is planned to create a regulatory framework in Russia, which will oblige domestic and foreign car manufacturers to transfer key technical information to independent car services. This will simplify the maintenance of cars outside dealerships and increase transparency. They plan to develop new rules taking into account the experience of the European Union.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade initiated the development of legislation obliging automakers and official distributors to provide technical information about cars to independent service organizations. We are talking about both Russian and foreign companies. The documents of the Ministry emphasize the need to introduce European experience in this area in order to ensure wider access to the information necessary for quality service of vehicles, writes Gazeta.ru.

It is assumed that access to technical data will be provided, subject to the compliance of services to certain requirements, including the availability of the necessary equipment and qualified personnel. Legislative norms must also provide for a remuneration system for manufacturers for providing such information and prescribe the responsibility of companies for the completeness and relevance of the transferred information.

Earlier, the largest Russian car dealer Rolf signed a strategic agreement with the ZEEKR brand.
