The new GAC Hyptec HT will appear at dealers in the summer of 2026 and will become a competitor to Tesla

Olga Petrova, Deputy General Director for Sales of New Cars at Avilon AG, reported this to the Autostat agency. According to her, the new product marks not just an expansion of the line, but the brand’s entry into the more expensive electric segment.

According to Olga Petrova, with a price of about 6 million rubles, the model will be in a saturated competitive segment, where buyers pay attention not only to technical data, but also to image, liquidity, terms of purchase and service. The main competitors of Hyptec HT in Russia will be Avatr 11, Zeekr 7X, Voyah Free, Exlantix ET, as well as partly Tesla Model Y and other premium electric crossovers from parallel imports.

“But there is an important difference here: Hyptec HT is released through the official GAC channel, which means that for some buyers it will be perceived as a clearer and safer purchase. This is especially important for an electric car, where the client needs not only emotions from design and dynamics, but also a clear warranty, service infrastructure, vehicle adaptation and support from the dealer,” notes Olga Petrova.

According to her, the positioning of Hyptec HT and AION V will be clearly differentiated. AION V is a more widespread and pragmatic electric crossover with an affordable price and simple image, aimed at buyers who want to enter the world of electric vehicles without overpaying for status. Hyptec HT is the next level: more emotions, higher status, higher class and, accordingly, a higher price.

According to Petrova, GAC Hyptec HT will not be a mass model in overall sales. Initially, its share may be only a few percent, but with stable supplies and proper promotion it can grow to 5-7%.
