The new UAZ Patriot will feature a large-screen multimedia system for the first time

The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has revealed details of the upcoming update of the iconic Patriot SUV. As representatives of the company told Gazeta.Ru, the model will receive not only cosmetic restyling, but also a significant expansion of the list of options.

The main sensation is that for the first time in the history of the model, a large tablet multimedia system will appear: if the current versions of the Patriot are equipped with a 7-inch screen, then after the update, buyers will be able to count on a 9-inch display. True, the plant clarifies that this is still a promising goal, but the plans are quite realistic.

But that’s not all: the SUV will acquire modern amenities, such as an electromechanical transfer case controlled by a puck (instead of traditional “levers”), a multifunction steering wheel, as well as a whole range of USB inputs, including modern USB-C connectors.

Externally, the updated Patriot will also be transformed: LED optics and a different interior design are expected. However, the main changes are hidden under the hood: the car will receive a fundamentally new 2.0 liter diesel engine. and a power of 136 hp. Russian production. Paired with it, as well as with the ZMZ Pro gasoline engine (2.7 l, 150 hp), a new domestic 6-speed manual transmission will work.

Thus, after restyling, the Patriot will become not only a more modern, but also a technically seriously improved car. At the moment, the plant has already sent versions of the new product for certification.
