The new Volkswagen Tiguan received a powerful “turbo fame”

At the Motor Show in New York, Tiguan debuted in the North American version. As expected, for the United States, Volkswagen has prepared a more modern “technique” than for other markets: in the top version of Sel R-Line Turbo, the crossover is equipped with a two-liter turbo engine forced to 271 horsepower.

Under the hood of the new American Tiguan, there is a two -liter turbo engine with four cylinders, which gives out 271 strength and 349 nm of torque. However, such an unit is laid only a crossover performed by Sel R-Line Turbo. Other options that Volkswagen will show at the end of the year will be less productive.

To increase the return by 67 forces and 69 Nm, Volkswagen installed a larger turbocharger, new more durable pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft from nitrogenized steel. The fuel pump is injected under a pressure of 500 bar. The gearbox is an eight -band machine, and the drive is full 4Motion. The time for acceleration of such a crossover to the “hundreds” Volkswagen does not lead.

Tiguan from the bumper to the bumper has 4.7 meters. The width is 1.8 meters, the height is 1.7 at a 2.8-meter wheelbase. Sel R-Line Turbo is equipped with 20-inch wheels by default, and the body that the designers tried to give a sports look can be painted in the green Avocado Green, the light gray Sandstone UNI and the blue Montery Blue Pearl.

The top version is in the salon of natural wood, Varenna leather upholstery and a new complex with two separate screens. The diagonal of the central display is 15 inches, the “tidy” – 10.25. Also, the equipment includes climate control, electroregulations, heating, ventilation and massage of the front seats. Prices should be voiced closer to the start of sales, but the deadlines have not yet been disclosed.

In March, the new Volkswagen Tiguan came to Mexico. There, the crossover received an old 1.4 TSI turbo engine with a capacity of 150 forces, working in conjunction with a seven -speed “robot” and front -wheel drive. At the top of the ruler-R-line with a sports body kit, 20-inch discs, ventilation and massage of the front seats, chambers of circular review and a 15-inch touchscreen.
