The Ministry of Health is going to update the procedure for a medical examination of drivers for alcohol and narcotic intoxication. The corresponding draft order has already been developed. The ministry will clarify the situations in which the check is required, the list of drugs prohibited while driving, and also approve the need to obtain the consent of the audited.

The new order clarifies the procedure for the examination of persons who seem drunk or consumed narcotic substances. Special test conditions will be introduced in cases of emergency medical care – for example, for accidents. In addition, the Ministry will clarify when it is necessary to check employees of organizations, military personnel or citizens at military training.

Before conducting a medical examination, it will be necessary to obtain voluntary consent. The audited will have to confirm in writing that he received all the information about the procedure, her goals and risks. If he refuses to check, he will be given a disagreement certificate.
