Journalists suggest that this is a prototype of a hybrid crossover, which is comparable by the X-Trail in size. The fact is that competitors in the person of Honda and Toyota in Brazil already have hybrid crossovers, Nissan is represented in the country only by fuel models. At the same time, the company’s arsenal has an E-Power hybrid technology, in which the ICE acts as a generator, and it is very popular: for example, the same X-Trail for hybrid modification in Mexico accounts for 15 percent of sales.

At the same time, the X-Trail with E-Power in Brazil Nissan, apparently, does not intend to launch. According to the Nissan Latin America division, Guy Rodriguez, a completely new model is being developed for the Brazilian market, “not presented anywhere else in the world.” Production is organized at the Nissan factory in the Rezend (Rio de Janeiro).
