The revived body atelier Saautchik introduced the Torpedo S Roger

It is based on Mercedes-AMG GT and stylized as a classic Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. The circulation will be 15 copies. Price – from $ 1.8 million. Part of this amount, apparently, is a fee for the opportunity to join the rich heritage of the original Saautchik from 1906 to 1955.

The Netherlands company Saautchik declared itself as a body atelier and at the Top Marques exhibition in Monaco showed the Torpedo S Rhodster. Previously, the car appeared under the name of 300 GTC, and we assumed that the current Mercedes-AMG SL would be the basis for it. As it turned out, under the graceful carbon fiber body, the Mercedes is really hidden, but not SL, but the first generation GT (C190/R190). It is given by a salon with a characteristic scattering of buttons on the central console and a small display.

Saautchik

The name Torpedo S refers to an open type of body popular at the beginning of the 20th century. The design has elements of the baroque style characteristic of the SAOUUTCHIK, but in general, the machine is seen by the modern interpretation of Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. The UGUR Sahin Design design studio was responsible for the appearance of Rooster (Ugur Sakhin is also indicated as the founder of the Saoonchik BV), but the technical partner was Pogea Racing, known for the tuning of “Fiats”, “Alfa Romeo” and “Ferrari”.

For the creation of each copy of Torpedo S will take about eight months. The total circulation will be 15 cars, and the price, according to preliminary estimates, will approach 1.8 million dollars. Under the hood of Rogster, Twin-Turbo V8 with a capacity of 625 horsepower will be prescribed. Acceleration to a hundred will occupy 3.2 seconds (like GT Black Series), the maximum speed – 325 kilometers per hour. What is true is unknown.
