The start date for UAZ production in Cuba has been revealed

The assembly of Russian SUVs is planned to begin in February next year, Izvestia writes, citing a source at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. According to him, the preparation of the production site is now being completed. Where exactly it will be located is still unknown. SUVs will be assembled in Cuba using the large-knot or “screwdriver” method from vehicle kits supplied from Russia, Izvestia writes. The first batch of equipment has already been transported to the workshop. Its installation and delivery of the first sets from UAZ are expected in January.

After setting up and testing the equipment, the full assembly of the cars begins: according to the source, this will happen in February 2025. The first orders for Cuban-assembled cars have already been received, he added.
