Most Russians are not going to buy a new car this year, showed a survey conducted jointly by Avtostat and Auto Mail.ru. At the same time, only a quarter of motorists hopes for the return of Western brands.
More than five thousand car owners took part in the online survey. Almost every second of the respondents said that when choosing a new car, only those that are sold on the Russian market will officially consider. This option was chosen by 48.9 percent of the respondents.
Almost every fourth participant in the survey (24.2 percent) will wait for the return of the departed brands to Russia – Western, Japanese and Korean. Every sixth (16.6 percent) do not see problems in the purchase of cars supplied according to the parallel import scheme.

Despite the fact that Chinese stamps systematically fill the market since 2022, the Russians have known no more than five of them. According to a recent survey, the most recognizable was Haval, which was remembered by 84 percent of the respondents. The second place went to Chery, the third – Geely.
