The updated UAZ “Patriot” with a new engine was sent for testing

The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has begun the final stage of preparing the restyled Patriot SUV. The pre-production sample has already been submitted for certification tests, the press service of the enterprise told Izvestia on May 21.

Particular attention at this stage is paid to the electronic components of the car. As UAZ clarified, as part of the certification, the new electronic architecture of the SUV is being validated, and specialists from FSUE NAMI are involved in the work.

The appearance of the Patriot will also change after restyling. The car will receive revised LED optics. The interior will feature an updated steering wheel.

The main technical innovation is a domestically produced two-liter diesel engine with a power of 136 hp. It is paired with a new six-speed manual transmission, also produced in Russia. In addition, the SUV will be equipped with an electromechanical transfer case with “puck” control.

It is noteworthy that the same new “mechanics” will be installed on the version with the ZMZ Pro gasoline engine (volume 2.7 liters, power 150 hp).

Earlier it was reported that Volkswagen showed the compact Tukan pickup truck for the first time.
