Tire fitting in Russia grew in price by 12 percent

In March of this year, such a service in the country cost an average of 7219 rubles, Izvestia writes with reference to analysts of the Fit Service Auto Service network. This is 12 percent more than a year ago. Since the season replacement season with summer this year began earlier, in March the services recorded a surge of demand, and in April, on the contrary, a decline took place.

In early spring, drivers began to massively change tires in the Southern, Central, North Caucasian, Volga, North-Western federal districts, experts say. And in the Ural, Siberian and Far Eastern districts, motorists decided to wait until April.

As a result, in March, the demand for tire services increased by 78 percent compared to the same month of 2024. The number of related services in checks has grown even more – by 82 percent.

But in April the services were less loaded: 15 percent less services were provided than in April last year.

Last year, Russian plants produced 34.5 million tires. This is 13 percent more than a year earlier, and the best result from 2022. However, the industry still does not reach the level of 2021, and in 2025 it is forgiven due to the reduction of the automobile market. The tires meanwhile are getting more expensive: in March it was reported that the average cost of summer rubber over the year increased by 3.6 percent, winter – by 8.9 percent.
