Automotive lawyer Lev Voropaev told Gazeta.Ru about three similar tricks. According to the expert, the first trick among inspectors is to persuade the driver to sign a waiver of a medical certificate for intoxication. In some cases, by not succumbing to the persuasion of an agency employee, you can avoid deprivation of rights.
Traffic police officers refer to the fact that a medical examination will in any case detect traces of drugs in the body, even if the motorist used them several months ago or was near those who smoked illegal substances. At the same time, the inspector puts pressure on the driver to be registered with the drug dispensary. Having listened to the employee, the motorist will still be deprived of his license for one and a half to two years for refusing an examination, and will also be fined 30 thousand rubles.
Russians will be required to take a drug test to obtain a driver’s license. A violation of traffic rules has been named, for which an unalternative deprivation of rights is provided. In Russia they want to deprive of rights for watching a video while driving.
Also, unscrupulous inspectors try to convince the driver to agree with the readings recorded by the breathalyzer in the company car. In this case, the motorist must refuse to be examined at a medical institution. Employees use similar schemes in cases where the device showed 0.17-0.18 ppm, with the permitted value of 0.16 mg/l. With such indications, the doctor will most likely not detect a state of intoxication.
The third trick involves turning left or turning across a solid line. In some cases, inspectors try to charge a motorist for driving in the oncoming lane, drawing up a report in such a way that the driver allegedly did not immediately turn left, but drove some distance in the “oncoming lane.”
At the beginning of November, experts named a traffic violation that would definitely lead to the deprivation of a driver’s license. There is no alternative punishment for deliberate concealment of registration numbers.
