UAZ will begin to produce airbags

Until the end of 2025, a serial production of passive security systems will be prepared at the factory in Ulyanovsk, Izvestia writes with reference to the general director of UAZ Aleksya Spirina. According to him, it will be “not just assembly”, but full -fledged production. Eirbegs will be put on UAZ and Sollers cars with the prospect of supplies to other brands.

UAZ is going to launch the production of airbags “from raw materials”, Spirin said. That is, the whole process will be established, starting with the casting of the steering frame from the magnesium alloy and sewing of the pillows until the control of control units.

The fact that the production of airbags, belts and rudders will be launched on UAZ, it became known back in 2023. Then it was reported that a certain Chinese partner will help to establish the process of the Ulyanovsk plant. Investments in the project were estimated at one and a half billion rubles, and most of this amount were intended to receive as a loan from the Industrial Development Fund (FRP).

In Russia, Sollers ST8 pickup sales began at a “loaf” with a breakdown frame and a box from the UAZ BTR showed a sketch of an all -terrain vehicle that was supposed to replace Hunter

Then at the UAZ it was noted that they are counting on the demand from the Grandian Group, Moskvich and factories producing Chinese cars in Russia.

Meanwhile, UAZ connected robots to car production. SUVs, including a “loaf”, are now painted in automatic mode. The robots have an advanced application system that guarantees optimal spraying over the entire surface of the body. This should “significantly improve the quality of cars.”
