Used cars have fallen in price in Russia

According to Avto.ru calculations, over the past year prices on the Russian secondary car market have not increased, but, on the contrary, have decreased. By the end of the year, the average cost of a used car dropped to two million rubles – 12 percent lower than the January figure. The cheapest models were Lada Largus, Chery Tiggo 8 Pro and Exeed TXL.

Lada Largus became cheaper by 14.6 percent in 2024: its average price on the secondary market dropped to 966 thousand rubles. Second place went to Chery Tiggo 8 Pro, which fell in price by 12.6 percent to 2.25 million. Third went to Exeed TXL with a price reduction of 12 percent, to 2.81 million rubles.

Next comes the Haval F7 (-11.2 percent, 1.91 million), and the top five is closed by the Chery Tiggo 4 (-10.8 percent, 1.52 million rubles). Behind them in the top ten are Chery Tiggo 7 Pro (-10.7 percent, 1.89 million), Renault Logan of the second generation (-10.1 percent, 699 thousand), Lada Xray (-10 percent, 978 thousand), Exeed VX (-9.7 percent, 3.43 million) and the fourth generation Range Rover (-9.4 percent and 9.87 million rubles).

The age of the average used car has increased to almost nine years, and the mileage has increased to approximately 145 thousand kilometers. The largest share of cars offered on the secondary market are models from German brands (22 percent). The second place is occupied by the “Japanese” (21 percent), the third by the “Koreans” (17 percent). Domestic cars occupy 13 percent of the market. Chinese cars have not yet managed to penetrate there en masse, so their share was only 3.3 percent.

Previously, experts listed the most popular hybrid cars of 2024. The segment leaders were the LiXiang L7 and LiXiang L9 crossovers, and the Voyah Free was third. Next come the Japanese: Toyota, Nissan and Lexus.
