Volkswagen will rely on the Uzbek assembly: the contract is signed

Member of the board of auto giant Martin Sander said in social networks that the company agreed on the strategic entry of Volkswagen to the Uzbek market. They plan to produce cars along with the subsidiary of Uzavtosanoat – Alyans Auto. The press service of the enterprise confirmed that the contract with Volkswagen was signed as part of the IV Tashkent International Investment Forum.

Uzavtosanoat said that the agreement with Volkswagen involves the release of a whole line of modern cars – from sedans to full -sized crossovers. Serial production of Uzbek Volkswagenov is scheduled for the IV quarter of 2025, the assembly will begin with a large -sized method with a gradual increase in the level of localization and transmission of technology. The export deliveries of the Volkswagen Uzbek assembly are implied.

Martin Sander clarified that they intend to supply machine tools from the Chinese branch of Volkswagen to Central Asia. The proximity to the production base will significantly reduce logistics costs and reduce the carbon trace, the representative of the automatic concern emphasized. The lineup of Uzbek Volkswagenes was not disclosed, but Martin Sander mentioned “eight stylish sedans and spacious SUVs” in the context of the Uzbekistan market.

In Uzbekistan, it was reminded that in 2023 the Volkswagen concern planned to enter the market through the Jizak free economic zone on the base of the Jizak Auto Auto. Initially, they wanted to launch the conveyor before the end of 2023, but the project was not implemented. Now Volkswagen is ready for the second coming.
