The Swedish automaker shared the results of the work for 2024 and announced plans for the 2025th. Last year was successful for the company, sales increased by eight percent, to 175 thousand cars; Demand for electric cars increased by 54 percent, and net profit amounted to 1.37 billion euros, which is 13 percent more than in 2023. In 2025, Volvo has every chance to improve these indicators with the launch of three new products, the ES90 sedan, EX60 crossover and a hybrid for the Chinese market.
Now about each new product in more detail. ES90 has already been shown on teasers: it will be the flagship of the “battery” line and successor of the S90 model, which will quit the BMW i5, Mercedes-Benz EQE and Audi A6 E-Tron. It is expected that in technology the sedan is unified with EX90, but the design will be made in the EX30 style. The model will be based on the SPA2 platform (Scalable Product Architecture), which Volvo developed in cooperation with the Chinese Geely.
There are already details about the dimensions of ES90: the length of the car will be 4.99 meters, the width is 1.94 meters, and the height will be 1.54 meters with an impressive wheelbase of more than 3.1 meters. The novelty will get a battery with a capacity of 111 kilowat hours and power plants with a capacity of 279 to 517 horsepower. The drive will be rear or complete.

But for the EXET EXTROCECE EX60, the Swedes developed the SPA3 architecture. She uses the layout of the mentioned SPA2, but with an improvement – she has a more powerful computing part based on the Volvo Cars Superset technological stack, and it is more flexible, that is, suitable for models of different classes. In the Volvo line, the new EX60 will replace the XC60 and will compete with Tesla Model Y.
A hybrid for the Chinese market is still appearing in the company’s plans under the internal index of V446. According to unofficial data, Lynk & Co 08, based on the SMA platform, shall share with it. The latter is equipped with a 593-horsepower installation and traction batteries of CATL with a capacity of 40 kilowatt hours, and its range reaches 1.2 thousand kilometers. The MEIZU, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer who crossed the Geely wing in the summer of 2022, is working on software for the V446 hybrid. The hybrid model will be produced at the factory in Chinese Thaijou.
