What kind of electric cars are Russians transplanted: List

In the first two months of 2025, Russia sold 1269 new electric cars, and this is 63 percent less than sold for January-February 2024. Zeekr, officially not represented in our market, retains the title of the leader of the segment, but the brand sales were significantly sank compared to last year’s indicator – by 72 percent. But Xiaomi first entered the rating.

In January-February 2025, the Russians were most often transplanted to the ZEEKR model: in two months they bought 464 such cars. In second place in popularity was the Russian Evolution brand with a result of 114 of the electric car sold, which corresponds to a fall of 59 percent relative to the indicator for the same period of 2024. Closes the AVATR three – 109 cars and an increase of six percent. The top 5 also includes Moskvich (97 pcs., -74 percent) and Ora (81 pcs., +38 percent).

In the second half of the rating, the places were distributed as follows: on the sixth by BYD (54 pcs., -43 percent), on the seventh Voyah (40 pcs., -31 percent), on the eighth Xiaomi with 40 sold electric cars, on the ninth Tesla (34 pcs. -70 percent), and on the tenth Volkswagen (22 pcs., +52, +52, +52, +52, +52 percent). Sales of electric cars of other brands in total amounted to 214 copies.

Most often, electric cars are bought in Moscow and the Moscow Region – 44.4 percent of the metropolitan regions. In the beginning of 2025, 7.6 percent of electric vehicles were bought in the Krasnodar Territory, another 7.5 percent was sold in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

If we talk about the indicators of February, then in the last month of winter in Russia, 617 new electric vehicles were implemented in Russia. This is 68 percent less than in the same month last year (1905 pcs.). Sales in the “green” segment are reduced by the eighth month in a row, that is, from July 2024, and before that, growth was recorded, which has been preserved for 22 months.
