Zeekr recalled in China due to uncontrolled battery heating

The procedure is carried out in strict accordance with the “Rules on the recall of defective automobile products”, as well as related regulations for the implementation of such measures.

The vehicle recall has been registered under official number S2026M0023V. The campaign starts on March 6, 2026. Its effect applies to some Zeekr 001 electric vehicles in the WE modification, manufactured from July 8, 2021 to March 18, 2024. A total of 38,277 vehicles are subject to inspection and possible repair.

The reason for the recall is that some vehicles, due to inconsistencies in the production of high-voltage power battery components, may exhibit an abnormal increase in internal battery resistance over time.

This may result in reduced performance of some of the power batteries and, in extreme cases, may result in thermal runaway of the power battery, which poses a safety risk.

It was previously reported that extreme cold turns Evolute electric vehicles into bricks while driving.
