Despite the low cost (about a million rubles), a spacious interior and original solutions, such as a chair that folds into a table, the model has serious limitations.
First of all, Wake is a purely city car that does not like high speeds: due to its narrow body, windage and low weight, it is easily blown off the road, said Za Rulem magazine expert Alexander Vinogradov.
The model’s ground clearance is low, the wheels are small, and, as a specialist notes, when driving in the snow, the Wake “sits” in shallow powder.
The engine is a 660 cc three-cylinder turbo engine. cm power 64 hp — reliable, but tends to get stuck on the piston rings if you operate the car in “retirement” mode, without active loads.
The variator (model C0B-B2) runs for a long time only if the fluid is regularly replaced every 60 thousand kilometers and in the absence of constant slipping.
Fuel consumption for such a small engine is disappointing: on average, Wake consumes just over 8 liters of 95 gasoline.
Also, the disadvantages include the fact that there are only four seats in the cabin, and the back row is designed strictly for two passengers.
Thus, the Daihatsu Wake is a very specific car that is suitable only for warm, well-cleaned cities and does not tolerate aggressive or, conversely, too calm driving, Vinogradov noted.
