The car has already been certified and received vehicle type approval (VTA), RIA Novosti reports.
According to OTTS, the Senat 900 is a sedan measuring 5.14 meters in length, 1.9 meters in width and 1.5 meters in height. There are two modifications for the model – with two or three seats in the back row. Under the hood of the car is a three-liter V6 gasoline engine developing 326 hp. and 450 Newton meters of torque, the agency reports.
The recipient of the vehicle type approval is the SZPK joint-stock company. The address of the assembly plant in the documents coincides with the address of the former enterprise of the Japanese concern Toyota in Shushary. The presence of OTTS allows the manufacturer to officially produce and sell a car on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, previously announced plans to restart the Toyota plant in St. Petersburg. In February 2026, he announced that the enterprise would be restarted this year. Let us recall that in 2023, the Japanese automaker sold its plant to FSUE NAMI without the right of repurchase.
Previously, the Volga brand issued documents for the K40 crossover.
