As the press service of the AutoSpetsTsentr Group of Companies told the analytical agency Autostat, the start of deliveries of the front-wheel drive five-seater Tenet T8 is scheduled for the end of June. There are no official prices yet, but it is already clear that the modification with 2WD and a 5-seater interior will cost less than the currently existing versions of the model.
“It is expected that the share of the new product in total T8 sales will be 50% and will increase its share in the Tenet model range by 10-15%, as it will attract new customers due to a more affordable price. Not all potential customers require three rows of seats in the cabin and all-wheel drive, while a spacious trunk and fuel economy are more popular options when choosing a car,” commented the press service of the AutoSpetsCenter Group of Companies.
The company emphasized that the main competitors of the new product are Haval F7, Geely Atlas and Belgee X70. At the same time, the new T8 version compares favorably with its spacious trunk and fuel efficiency.
Previously, the flagship crossover Tenet T8 was offered in Russia only in a 7-seater, three-row version. The new five-seater version features a spacious rear row and a spacious trunk: 889 liters in the standard configuration and up to 1930 liters with the rear bench folded down.
The new T8 modification is equipped with a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine developing 186 hp. and maximum torque of 275 Nm. It is paired with a 7-speed preselective robotic gearbox with two “wet” clutches. Fuel consumption: minimum on the highway – 6.3 l/100 km, in the combined cycle – 7.7 l/100 km, in the city – 9.6 l/100 km.
