A Bugatti EB110 GT rusted in the garage of the Emir of Kuwait is up for sale

The car, which has undergone restoration after a long period of inactivity, is offered for purchase by a company from Luxembourg. The 1994 Bugatti EB110 GT traveled only 7.1 thousand km, but required the intervention of restorers due to the humid Kuwaiti climate: the mechanical parts of the supercar were covered with dust and surface corrosion. In order to bring the collectible Bugatti into perfect condition, it was disassembled down to the screw.

The Bugatti EB110 GT is one of the most technologically advanced supercars of the 1990s and an attempt to return the legendary French brand to its former glory. In 1994, when this car with chassis number 071 was purchased by its first owner, Gualtiero Giribaldi, there was a whole decade left before Bugatti was reincarnated under the wing of the Volkswagen concern with the thousand-horsepower Veyron.

The first owner owned the car until 2005, when it was sold at Bonhams auction. The supercar with a mileage of just over 7 thousand km was bought by Sheikh Nasser Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, Emir and Prime Minister of Kuwait. The car spent the next 17 years in his garage, practically never leaving: by the time his collection was sold in 2023, the odometer showed a ridiculous 7,105 km.

At the same time, the equipment was negatively affected by the long downtime in the maritime climate. Dust, corrosion and age required a full intervention. The new owner entrusted the work to the Luxembourg workshop Art & Revs. Experts dismantled the car down to the carbon fiber monocoque and carried out a complete audit of all components and assemblies. At the same time, they retained the original paint and factory surface treatment.

After restoration, this EB110 GT was shown in public: in 2024, it was shown at The Quail Concours d’Elegance during Monterey Car Week, and a year later at RetroMobile in Paris. The car is currently located in Luxembourg. The price of the car is not disclosed: it will be announced only to potential buyers. The Bugatti EB110 GT is equipped with a 3.5-liter V12 petrol engine with four turbines, it produces 560 hp. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive is provided. Acceleration to “hundreds” is less than 3.5 seconds. The model’s circulation was only 96 copies.
