Not many Japanese SUVs can compete with the Lexus LX 700 in terms of visual imposingness. This black example looks ordinary, but in fact hides serious modifications. It is not designed for police chases, but it will reliably protect passengers from attack. Carscoops reports this.
Miami Armored has modified the Lexus LX 700 to give it the strength it needs to withstand 7.62mm rifle bullets, the same ones used in the AK-47. Moreover, armor along the entire perimeter allows the vehicle to withstand two grenade explosions at the same time.
In addition to reinforced body panels, Miami Armored equips the SUV with ballistic glass throughout, as well as armor plates on the fuel tank, engine compartment and battery. After all, it is useless to have an armored interior if several rifle shots into the engine or tank immobilize the car.
The list of main changes also included: a reinforced partition between the passenger compartment and the trunk, reinforced door hinges and tires with runflat technology. In addition, there is a system for closing the gaps between the body panels, which prevents bullets from entering the passenger compartment.
In addition, the manufacturer offers a wide range of options to choose from: a night vision camera, siren and speakerphone, LED flashers front and rear, reinforced bumpers, an air purification system, radiator armor and a sunroof for emergency escape.
