Japanese tuning company Luster is preparing to demonstrate its new development at the January Tokyo Motor Show – a special version of the Suzuki Jimny called CODE19, designed for the most difficult off-road conditions. The company’s engineers have completely redesigned the appearance of the SUV, replacing standard plastic bumpers with durable steel pipe structures, which will significantly increase the vehicle’s resistance to damage on rough terrain. To improve cross-country ability, the CODE19 will be equipped with specialized off-road tires that provide maximum grip on any type of surface. Completing the aggressive look is a new, uniquely designed grille made from durable fiberglass.
Beyond Japan
All components used to create CODE19 will be available for purchase separately, allowing owners of standard Suzuki Jimnys to upgrade their car themselves. As an example, the cost of a set of bumpers with fog lights, which in the Japanese market is 104,500 yen, which in Russian currency is approximately 67,000 rubles. The special version is based on the Jimny Sierra modification, which is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine developing 102 horsepower and is available with a 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is an integral characteristic of a real SUV.
In the middle of the year, it became known that the Suzuki Jimny family would soon be replenished with new interesting modifications, including a hybrid version and a two-door pickup truck. The company expresses confidence that new modifications of the Jimny will be in demand not only in Australia, but also in regions such as South Africa and European countries.
