Armenia authorities will not purchase new trolleybuses because of the “hares”

The press secretary of the mayor of Yerevan Aik Kostanyan told reporters that the municipality was faced with a serious problem of non-payment of the passage. The arrears are so great that the Armenian authorities revised the procurement plans for new trolleybuses: there are simply no planned amounts in the budget, so 30 cars are excluded from the list, and instead of 45 units of transport, only 15 will be bought.

AIK Kostanyan emphasized that the situation with the bordering non -payers in public transport will have consequences. So at the city hall they reacted to protest in Yerevan: from February 1, the ticket price increased from 100 to 150 drams (from 20 to 30 rubles), and the opposition urged to ride “hares” in order to influence an unreasonable increase in tariffs.
