Audi introduced the new generation A6 Allroad with diesel engine and air suspension

The new Audi A6 Allroad has officially debuted in its fifth generation, and the main thing that catches your eye is that it has become wider by as much as 11 centimeters compared to the regular A6 Avant. The front track is widened by 74 mm, and the rear by 70 mm, which, combined with massive wheel arches and a plastic body kit, makes the car look like a full-fledged SUV, and not just a raised station wagon.

The ground clearance of the Allroad version is increased by 34 mm compared to the regular A6 station wagon. In addition, the adaptive air suspension with an adjustment range of 55 mm allows you to raise the body even higher in off-road modes or lower it at speeds above 120 km/h to save fuel.

The list of options includes a rear wheel steering system, which at low speeds turns them out of phase by up to 5 degrees, reducing the turning radius, and at high speeds turns them in the same direction as the front wheels for stability. In the plug-in hybrid version, this system is included as standard equipment. In addition, for the first time in its history, Allroad received a rechargeable hybrid powertrain based on a 2.0 TFSI petrol turbo engine and an electric motor.

Its total output is 367 hp. and 500 Nm of torque. The traction battery provides a cruising range of 95 km using pure electricity. Available for the A6 Allroad is a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine with 299 hp and 580 Nm of torque. In the new generation, it is complemented by a “mild” hybrid with a 48-volt starter-generator and an electric compressor, which instantly eliminates “turbo lag”. Acceleration to “hundreds” for a car with a diesel engine is 5.4 s, for a gasoline hybrid – 5.5 s, the maximum speed for both versions is fixed at 250 km/h.

In the cabin there is a panoramic panel with an 11.9-inch virtual instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen, an optional screen for the passenger, and a voice assistant with ChatGPT. There are digital matrix headlights with eight daytime running light options. Orders for the new A6 Allroad will begin to be accepted from June 18, and the first cars will appear at dealers in the fall. Prices in Germany start from 77.3 thousand euros for the diesel version, the hybrid costs from 80.3 thousand euros.
