Auto expert Tselikov: sales of Kia cars in Russia increased by 90%

In the first quarter of 2026, 2,035 new Kia cars were registered in Russia – 90% more than a year earlier (1,071 units). The head of the analytical agency Avtostat, Sergei Tselikov, reported this on his Telegram channel.

“Almost half of the demand (48%) was for the compact crossover Kia Seltos (971 units). Its sales increased 3.5 times. This model fits into “pass-through” 160 liters. with and is supplied to us mainly from the Chinese market (94%),” the expert noted.

According to him, Kia Sportage took second place with a share of 22%: of the 442 registered cars, more than half (56%) were assembled in Kazakhstan. The rest came from China (33%), Korea (8%) and Slovakia (3%).

Among the popular models are the K5 (186 units) and K3 (133 units) sedans, the compact KX1 (85 units), the Carnival minivan (77 units) and the Sorento crossover (77 units). The Kia lineup is quite diverse. It is noteworthy that more than 60% of all Kia cars sold in Russia were assembled in China.
