According to the analytical agency, in the first quarter of 2026, 198.2 thousand new cars in the SUV segment were sold on the Russian market.
“By the end of the 1st quarter of 2026, 198,259 new cars in the SUV segment were sold in our country. This is 21% more than in January-March last year,” reports Autostat.
The growth of the SUV segment turned out to be three times stronger than the dynamics of the entire Russian car market (+7.3%), due to which the share of crossovers and SUVs increased from 66.4% to 74.8%, that is, now three out of four new cars sold in the country belong to this segment.
The leader among brands was Haval (35.6 thousand cars), followed by Tenet (27.9 thousand), Lada (17.8 thousand), Geely (15.4 thousand) and Belgee (10.8 thousand).
In the model rating, the first place was taken by Tenet T7 (14.3 thousand units), second place by Haval Jolion (14.2 thousand units), the top 5 also included Tenet T4 (11.2 thousand units), Lada Niva Travel (10.0 thousand units) and Belgee X50 (7.9 thousand units). The five brands listed above account for more than half of all sales of new SUVs in Russia.
