AvtoVAZ has planned a large-scale modernization of production

In May 2026, production lines and technological equipment will be modernized to prepare for the release of a new model – the Lada Azimut crossover, notes the AvtoVAZ press service. An additional amount of work is planned on the second production line, from which the Niva family of SUVs are produced.

It was announced that the days of a single corporate vacation scheduled for May 4-8, July 27 – August 16 and December 29-30 will be used to carry out work to modernize production.

However, for the successful completion of all planned activities, a decision was made to postpone two days of the December unified corporate vacation (December 29-30) to May 12-13.

The production of Lada Azimut itself will begin in September 2026. This was previously reported by the company’s press service with reference to the company’s president, Maxim Sokolov.

Lada Azimut is a completely new compact crossover (B-SUV segment), which will be the first completely original model in this class from a Russian automaker in almost three decades.
