The updated Lada Niva Legend received a new 8-valve 1.8-liter engine. Torque has increased by 24 Nm, with 80% of the thrust available from 1000 rpm. In some modes, fuel consumption was reduced by up to 30%. This was reported by a correspondent for Motor magazine.
Engineers modernized the car’s front suspension: the anti-roll bar was moved forward, which significantly improved handling and smoothness. In the area of safety, a driver’s front airbag has appeared – the power structure of the body has been strengthened for it. In addition, the car was equipped with ventilated front brake discs, which now more effectively resist overheating.
Motor clarifies that the cabin has become quieter thanks to the one-piece hood sound insulation. The gearbox lever was brought closer to the driver, the transfer case became single-lever and received a third support. The car was equipped with air conditioning with a cabin filter, central locking and a single key for doors and ignition. The steering wheel was unified with the Granta model, and the ignition switch was moved to the right of it. The presence of two-tone 16‑inch wheels completes the look.
For the first time in the history of the model, the front panel, hood, roof, rear door and rear apron of the Lada Niva Legend are made of double-sided galvanized steel. This innovation will increase the durability of the vehicle when operating in difficult conditions.
