AvtoVAZ will use a panoramic roof on the Lada Azimut model

As the editors of Motor magazine learned, laser welding will be used to connect the components of the panoramic roof: this technology is required when welding critical points responsible for maintaining the specified body geometry.

“To launch this roof, we used innovative technology, laser welding. We chose laser welding due to the increased requirements for the body structure,” notes Igor Shishkin, head of the body welding project.

8 welding points with a total length of 18 centimeters will be applied to the body. The precise operation of the lasers should guarantee the absence of leaks and the correct operation of the mechanisms (the roof will be equipped with a hatch).

The domestic company VolgaEnergoProm supplied two welding machines to the Russian automotive manufacturer. In total, welding of Azimuth bodies will be automated by 47%.

In Russia, they will start producing cars of two Chinese brands. In Belarus, the Belgee X50 can now be bought for 1.5 million rubles. In Russia, a new crossover has appeared for 2.6 million rubles.

Previously, Lada told when it would be possible to buy the Azimut crossover. This is the first crossover of the Tolyatti brand, if we consider the Niva an SUV, and the XRAY Cross a hatchback.
