As Carscoops reports, citing a member of the company’s board of directors, Jochen Goller, the decision is due to the natural updating of the model range and the emergence of a more advanced electric vehicle – a new version of the BMW i3.
The new BMW i3, which will effectively replace the i4, has an 800-volt architecture and support for 400 kW fast charging. The i3 50 xDrive version develops 463 hp and its EPA range is expected to be 708 km.
At the same time, as noted in the publication, the i4 may return in the future: it is expected that the new generation of 4-Series will be offered with both gasoline and electric powertrains.
