Car production in Russia is gaining momentum

According to the results of 2024, Russian car factories produced 756 thousand cars – this is 39.2 percent more than in 2023. In December alone, 79.6 thousand cars left the conveyors, which corresponds to an increase of 43.6 percent compared to the same month of last year. The production of trucks is also growing – by 8.2 percent, up to 194 thousand units.

The statistics of the production of vehicles were published by Rosstat. It is noted that the December result of the production of cars entered the top three along the results of the year along with October and November, during which 91.2 thousand and 80.4 thousand cars were released in the country, respectively. Also in December, Russian plants produced 17.1 thousand trucks, and this indicator recorded a fall-2.7 percent in an annual comparison and 1.6 percent in relation to November 2024.

If we talk about the largest automobile enterprises of the country, then AvtoVAZ remains in the first place in terms of production. In 2024, the Russian auto giant produced 525,525 cars, and this is 40.5 percent more than a year earlier. In second place, the Tula plant Haval – earlier the authorities of the region reported that it produced 130 thousand cars in a year.

Statistics are also given by the volume of internal combustion engines for vehicles: last year, growth was 12.2 percent, up to 226 thousand pieces. In December, the engines were produced in the amount of 18.3 thousand pieces-8.2 percent more than in the last month of 2023.
