Changan CS55 Plus turned into Uni-S in Russia

The Chinese brand has finally brought its most popular model to the Uni line, which was known about a year ago. The CS55 Plus is now called Uni-S. This was done in order to “emphasize the conceptual design and high-tech solutions used in the model,” explained the Changan press service. Over the past year, Russians bought almost 38.4 thousand of these cars, which allowed the crossover to enter the top 10 most popular models on the market.

The fact that Changan decided to reform its model line in Russia became known at the end of 2023. Then it was reported that the crossover CS55 Plus and Lamore would become part of the Uni family and would be called Uni-S and Uni-L, respectively. The Uni family itself will be positioned as a sub-brand with an original logo, and it was proposed to choose it through voting. Uni-S was photographed in Russia back in May last year.

As for sales, there is an inaccuracy in the statistics, which was brought to the attention of the Changan press service. The fact is that in the second half of 2024, the model was sold in Russia both as Changan CS55 Plus and as Uni-S, as a result of which sales volumes were not summarized in the report, although these are the same car. “The aggregate sales data allowed the compact crossover to enter the top ten best-selling models on the Russian market and take ninth place,” Changan notes.

The Uni-S is equipped with a one and a half liter petrol turbo engine producing 181 horsepower, which works in conjunction with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The equipment includes all-round cameras, a built-in video recorder and a panoramic roof.

On the Changan website, the model is listed as Uni-S/CS55 Plus and costs from 2,839,900 to 2,959,900 rubles for a car produced in 2024.
