At the end of April, BYD’s premium division, Denza, presented the long-awaited Z sports car. At first, the car was shown in a convertible version, but it was announced that a coupe would also appear. Six weeks later, fresh images of these coupe modifications have emerged, as well as key technical specifications of power plants for the entire Z line, reports Carscoops.
The key feature of the Denza Z is its outstanding performance. Information published by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology indicates that two modifications of the power unit will be available for the Z, and each uses three electric motors.
In the basic versions, a 268 hp engine is installed on the front axle, and a pair of 215 hp engines are installed on the rear axle, which gives a total of 482 hp, almost comparable to the MG Cyberster, whose power reaches 502 hp. For those who want more power, Denza will offer the Z with a 670 hp front engine. and two rear ones with 456 hp each. – a total of 1582 hp, which exceeds the performance of the powerful Xiaomi SU7 Ultra with its 1526 hp.
So far, overclocking data for various versions of Denza Z has not been disclosed. The standard coupe and convertible are known to reach speeds of up to 300 km/h, while the flagship coupe is known to reach speeds of up to 350 km/h. At the same time, the standard coupe is practically indistinguishable in appearance from the convertible shown at the Beijing Auto Show (the only difference is the fixed roof). The top version looks much more aggressive – this is the car that was spotted testing at the Nurburgring last year.
