Dongfeng-Nissan reveals giant pickup truck with 3.0-liter diesel engine

The press service of the Chinese company shared photos and details about the Z9 project. We are talking about a full-size frame pickup truck with a length of 5.5 meters with a four-door cab and a 1.6-meter cargo platform. The Dongfeng Z9 will be offered with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, a 2.0 petrol turbo engine or a 3.0 turbodiesel engine. In the future, the pickup truck will have an analogue under the Nissan brand.

China’s most expensive all-terrain vehicle

The main characteristics of the Dongfeng Z9 are known thanks to leaked certification documents, and now the overall dimensions have been officially confirmed. A representative of the brand in Belarus said that the highest-torque pickup truck will develop 500 Nm of torque: we are probably talking about a version with a diesel engine with a capacity of 190 horsepower.

The Z9 pickup truck will be the first-born of Dongfeng’s commercial models with the new design. Z-style LED running lights, a chrome radiator grille, wheels with a directional pattern, a clever two-tone rear door design: the model clearly does not belong to the utilitarian segment. At the same time, there are no questions about the functionality yet: the stated approach angle will be 31 degrees, departure angle – 26 degrees.

Russian authorities began purchasing Chinese Dongfeng armored cars

The new Dongfeng Z9 will also probably appear in the CIS countries, because at the moment Oting SUVs and pickup trucks assembled at the same plant in Chengzhou are officially sold in Russia. Comments from the Belarusian office of Dongfeng also hint at expansion. However, the “nine” has not even entered the Chinese market yet.
