The Government of the Russian Federation has adopted amendments expanding the list of reasons why a driver’s license can be invalidated. The innovations will come into force on March 1, 2027, RIA Novosti reports.
As follows from the document reviewed by RIA Novosti, now the license will be revoked not only in case of a confirmed medical contraindication, but also in the event of a driver’s refusal or evasion of an extraordinary mandatory medical examination.
According to the new procedure, if a car owner, during a routine inspection, reveals signs of a disease that interferes with driving, he will be sent for treatment, and if the diagnosis is confirmed, he will be sent for an extraordinary examination. It is given three months from the date of receipt of the notification.
If the driver does not meet this deadline, his license will automatically become invalid and subject to cancellation.
It was previously reported that the Russian Federation wants to increase the fine for noisy cars.
