Each is dedicated to one of the Gulf countries, where the brand has been officially present for 30 years. A new matte shade was used to paint the supercars, and translucent leather was used for interior trim.

At last weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Ferrari unveiled a special series of cars dedicated to the Gulf countries. These are six two-door 296 GTBs, each with a unique livery and exclusive interior trim. The cars symbolize the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman. Well, the reason for their release was the 30th anniversary of the brand’s presence in the region.

All “Middle Eastern” supercars are painted in two colors: the corresponding “metallic” and the golden matte shade Arabian Golden Sheen, reminiscent of sand sparkling in the sun. The color is used for the roof, spoiler, wheels and calligraphy that adorns the engine cover. The choice of primary color is dictated by the characteristics of a particular country. For example, white mother-of-pearl hints at the traditional pearl industry of the UAE, while deep green is a reference to the oases of Saudi Arabia.

For Kuwait, the designers chose a brown, earthy tone. The red of Qatar is meant to reflect the tenacity of the spirit of its people, and the black of Bahrain is meant to reflect the mysticism of the night. Finally, the blue of Oman represents the enchanting beauty of the coast. The interior of all 296 GTBs is upholstered in Beige Honolulu and Gold Metallic leather, the latter being translucent, creating a glowing effect. Gold threads are used for embroidery on the headrests, and the front luggage compartment is also trimmed in leather for the first time. The final touch is a satin gold plating on the transmission selector pad.

Unveiled in 2021, the Ferrari 296 GTB is the brand’s first road-going supercar with a V6 engine. Before this, Ferrari “sixes” were the prerogative of only formula cars, sports prototypes and cars produced under the Dino brand. The unit was designed from scratch, has a volume of three liters, a crankshaft made of nitrided steel, IHI turbochargers in camber (Hot-V design) and produces 663 horsepower. Between it and the eight-speed DCT “robot” there is a built-in MGU-K formula electric motor with a power of 167 horsepower and 315 Nm, so that the total output of the hybrid installation reaches 830 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque.

The GTB accelerates to 100 mph in 2.9 seconds, to 200 in 7.3, and the top speed is 330 kilometers per hour. The supercar completes the Fiorano home circuit in 1:21, just two seconds slower than the SF90 Stradale.
