Ford Fiesta production ended in 2023. Now, five years later, the iconic car is back to carve out its niche in the affordable electric vehicle segment.
According to Auto Express, this was made possible thanks to a strategic alliance with Renault, concluded in December 2025. The new product is built on the AmpR Small platform, which is already used for the Renault 5, Renault 4, Alpine A290 and the new Nissan Micra.
It’s important that Ford won’t simply copy French models. The car will receive a unique body with its own design in the brand’s style. It is expected that the Fiesta will have sharper and more dynamic features compared to the donor Renault 5. The British publication has already published an exclusive image of what the new product may look like.
The body geometry will be close to the Renault 5, but Ford engineers will make their own tuning of the chassis, steering, brakes and suspension.
Based on the characteristics of the AmpR Small platform, it can be assumed that the revived Fiesta will receive batteries with capacities of 40 kWh and 52 kWh (the latter will provide a range of up to 405 km on the WLTP cycle). 148 hp motor will be able to accelerate the car to 100 km/h in less than 8 seconds.
The assembly of the new product will be carried out at the Renault plant in Northern France.
It was previously reported that UAZ is testing new diesel models in extreme conditions.
