We are talking about drivers who received a document abroad. Tomorrow the period of simplified exchange of foreign driver’s licenses ends. The situation will affect persons who have received Russian citizenship or a residence permit until April 1 last year. In addition, the driver’s license formed by Russians in the same period abroad will lose force.
Until now, drivers could change foreign rights categories, and B, having passed the theoretical exam in the traffic police. For categories C and D, motorists needed to undergo practical tests. At the same time, citizens of states in which the Russian language is official was allowed not to take practice. At the same time, Belarusian rights could be replaced without exams. Over the past year, about 400 thousand motorists took advantage of the driver’s license with a simplified replacement.

Starting tomorrow, foreign driver’s license will become invalid in Russia. Thus, traffic police officers will be able to fined drivers in the amount of 5 to 15 thousand rubles.
