From the beginning of the tests of unmanned vehicles in Russia, 36 accidents have occurred with their participation

This was reported to the prime minister of the country Mikhail Mishustin by the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov. The experiment on testing robotic cars began in 2022. Since then, only two accidents have occurred in Russia through the fault of drones. At the same time, not a single person was injured in accidents.

Since the spring of 2022, unmanned vehicles have made more than 92 thousand trips in Russia, most of which went through the Sirius federal territory. In addition, autonomous transport was tested on the roads of Innopolis and the capital’s district of Yasenevo. Of 36 accidents, 26 occurred when the cars moved in unmanned mode. The remaining ten – under the control of testers.

Testing of autonomous transport is carried out in Russia as part of the experimental regime, the duration of which has ended in the fall of last year. However, the government is going to extend the EPR until 2028. In addition, the authorities are going to make amendments to the test rules that will allow drones to bring drones to new roads.

At the end of January, the Ministry of Transport of Russia prepared a draft certification of unmanned machines. The document will allow you to bring the massive introduction of autonomous vehicles closer.
