The modular design allows you to flexibly change the wheelbase, roof height, body type (cargo or passenger), as well as install any power plants – gasoline, diesel, gas, hydrogen, electric and hybrid, the GAZ press service reports.
The platform supports front, rear and all-wheel drive, as well as manual or automatic transmissions. As development director Andrey Kuznetsov noted, the new family will expand the plant’s model range and will allow it to enter the segment of compact vans and minibuses, where the company has not previously operated.
The frameless design has reduced the weight and loading height (less than 60 cm), and batteries with a capacity of up to 150 kWh can be placed under the floor – almost three times more than the current Gazelle e-NN.
The presented sample is electric, with two motors of 200 kW (peak power) on each axis, but a single-motor version is also possible. Chassis: basic – independent suspension on all wheels; options with dependent rear suspension and steering wheels on the rear axle have also been developed to reduce the turning radius. The steering is an electric rack, which paves the way for active driver assistance systems.
