At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the premium brand of the Korean Hyundai made a double debut: the GMR-001 hypercar took part in the main competition for the first time. Genesis also presented the Magma GT3 concept supercar. The road version of this coupe, the Magma GT, has an updated interior.

Unlike many competitors, Genesis developed the racing GT3 in parallel with the road version, and not vice versa. The body was optimized for the GT3 category regulations: the car received widened tracks, a huge front splitter, air ducts and a massive wing. Additional ventilation ducts are provided for cooling, and a characteristic aerodynamic fin has appeared on the doors. The development of the supercar was also carried out by the Hyundai Motorsport division.

“Developed as part of a long-term motorsport strategy, the concept reflects the growing importance of GT3 competition and its potential to strengthen the connection between Genesis road cars and racing activities, positioning the Genesis and Genesis Magma Racing brands in this category,” the company said in a statement.

There are few technical details yet: it is expected that the same V8 as the GMR-001 hypercar will be installed under the hood of the Magma GT3. The road version – Magma GT Concept, which debuted in 2025, also did not go unnoticed by engineers and designers. His interior was completely redesigned. This concept features an analog instrument panel, stylized as racing instruments, as well as physical buttons instead of touchscreens. The coupe is expected to go into mass production soon.

The Genesis brand also announced an expansion of its presence in Europe: it will enter the markets of Italy, France, the Netherlands and Spain. Future plans include Austria, Denmark, Poland and Portugal.

Previously, BMW presented the M line concept at Le Mans.
