Haval – the most recognizable Chinese brand in Russia

84 percent of two thousand Avito Auto surveyed by Russians know about her. In general, the majority – 59 percent – know at least one car manufacturer from China. Men are more informed about them than women – 65 percent versus 54. On average, Russians can name four brands from the Middle Kingdom, and from one to five percent they know 82 percent.

Six to 10 Chinese auto -brands already know fewer Russians – only 11 percent. More than 11 marks were called four percent, but in general, not a single one could recall three percent of the respondents.

Young people are more aware of the diversity of the Chinese auto industry. So, those who were under 24 were able to name an average of five marks, and only 55 – only three. Residents of large cities are also better versed in the “Chinese”.

As for the most recognizable brands, Haval is the leader here, the second place is taken by Cher, which is known to 78 percent of the respondents, and the third – Geely (61 percent). This is followed by Changan (57 percent), Tank (47 percent), EXEED (41 percent), JAC (35 percent), Jetour (25 percent), FAW (21 percent) and GAC (18 percent).

About 40 percent of Russians believe that up to 15 Chinese brands are now represented in Russia. Another 32 percent believe that from 16 to 30.

The share of the “Chinese” in the market of new cars in Russia in 2024 reached 60 percent. About 30 percent of new cars sold in Russia in 2024 are domestic. Japanese, European and other departed stamps accounted for 10 percent of the market.
