Hyundai will recall 84 thousand cars due to instrument failure

The Korean automaker will update the software on problematic vehicles. A display malfunction, which leads to the disappearance of instrument readings, affected cars belonging to the premium brand Genesis.

The software for the car media system can be updated via a wireless network. Car owners will also be able to contact dealers for this.

“The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a recall of 83,877 vehicles in the United States because the dashboard may not display important safety information such as the speedometer or fuel gauge,” a Reuters report noted.

Autoblog clarifies that the problem with fading displays affected Genesis G80, GV60, GV70 and GV80 2025-2026 vehicles. Due to a software error with data recording, dashboard displays can periodically reset and go dark, potentially for 5-10 seconds, depriving drivers of important information and increasing the risk of an accident. Before the announcement of the recall campaign, the fault appeared on 237 vehicles.
