The car was prepared for rallying by the Vilnius Vehicle Factory (VFTS) and competed in the Austrian Rally Championship until the end of the 1980s. The second owner bought the car in 2018 and restored it with the help of specialists.
The Lada 2105 VFTS for sale was produced in 1981. After finishing his racing career, the car collected dust in the garage for many years. After restoration in 2020, the car received an FIA historic vehicle passport. This means that the new owner has a direct path to prestigious historical rallies.
From a technical point of view, this is a classic VFTS product. Under the hood is a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter engine that, thanks to a pair of horizontal Weber carburetors and a modified intake manifold, develops 128 hp. This is a serious indicator for a car weighing about 920 kg. The engine is paired with a short-throw five-speed transmission with a Torsen limited slip differential.
