In China, auto companies have been banned from equipping their electric cars with hidden door handles like Tesla’s.

The decision is related to safety issues: in the event of a serious accident or a car blackout, such handles can make it impossible to open the doors to save the driver and passengers.

According to the new rules, from January 1, 2027, all electric vehicles will have to be equipped with both external and internal door handles that have a mechanical opening function. This ensures that the doors can be opened even in the event of serious damage or loss of power.

Electric retractable handles, like those found on the Tesla Model S or BYD Seal, have recently become a popular design element, especially among modern electric vehicles in China.

It is noted that in China, approximately 60% of all electric vehicles sold have hidden door handles.

Earlier it was reported that in Russia they sell a VAZ-2101 with lambo doors and a powerful engine.
