According to the capital’s Department of Transport, the taxi service has increased rates in certain locations of the city, where there are fewer cars on the line than are necessary to fulfill orders.
There were no significant price increases recorded in the main popular locations.
At 10:00 a.m., the number of vehicles on the line practically corresponds to the same time a week ago, when weather conditions were normal.
The Department of Transport noted that an appeal has been sent to taxi operators with a requirement to ensure constant control over the cost of trips and take the necessary measures to prevent unreasonable price increases.
Also, Moscow authorities recommended that residents and guests of the capital refrain from traveling in private cars and use public transport due to heavy snowfall.
