The combined engine corporation is ready for serial production of VK-650V engines. We are talking about a domestic engine for light helicopters weighing up to four tons. The unit will replace the Canadian power plants Pratt & Whitney, which were originally installed on the Ansat helicopter family, including Aurus luxury version with a sedan salon.
Ansat helicopters were originally produced only with PW207K Canadian engines, but in 2023, due to the lack of power units, production was paused. Initially, the “imported” helicopter in the “one hundred percent Russian configuration” was supposed to appear in 2024, but in the end the deadlines have shifted. However, small -class aircraft engines in Russia have never been produced.

The combined engine corporation claims that the VK-650V is developing 650-750 horsepower and can be installed on Ansat helicopters and Ka-226T. The Federal Air Transport Agency certificate confirms that the engine meets all the necessary requirements and flights of flight. Power units will be released in St. Petersburg at the UDK-Klims enterprise.
On Russian aircraft planned to put adapted Aurus automobile engines. There were also plans to release a massive “passenger” motor based on V8 production by us. However, in the end, the Aurus modular engines family remained in the form of a project: only a 4.4-liter version is seriously produced.
