In the Russian Federation, about two thousand areas have been identified where drivers are forced to violate traffic rules

The project of the Public Chamber (OP) of the Russian Federation “Road Traps” has identified about 2 thousand sections on Russian roads where conditions have been artificially created for motorists to violate traffic rules. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the chamber, which summed up the interim results of the project, which has been implemented since 2022.

As of March 21, 2026, the project received 1,969 messages. After a significant decline in 2023, when only 321 traps were identified, their number began to grow again and rose to 535 in 2025. Since the beginning of 2026, 59 such traps have been recorded.

In order to draw the attention of law enforcement officers to the “trap”, it is necessary to fill out a special form – the appeal will be considered by the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on security and interaction with the Public Monitoring Committee. If the problem is confirmed, it will be fixed.

The “Road Trap” form contains a number of required fields. Additionally, you can attach photos. The Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate together with the city’s road services will be responsible for eliminating the “trap.”

The organizers of the initiative include the Main Directorate for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation for Safety and Interaction with Public Monitoring Committees, as well as the Information Center for Roads “Informavtodor”.
